ABOUT US

Purdy Materials is a locally owned and operated business. Our family has been farming in Tippecanoe County for five generations and providing construction materials to mid-North Indiana for more than 25 years.

In 1987, Purdy Concrete built its first batch plant to supply a rapidly growing construction market with ready mix concrete. Over the years, as customers requested new products and additional services, more batch plants and mixer trucks were added.

In 1993, Purdy Materials converted 30 acres of farm land from traditional row crops to Kentucky Bluegrass sod. Since then, our turfgrass acreage has grown to over 110 acres and we provide a year-round crop to the marketplace. On the rest of the farm, we continue to raise soybeans and field corn.

In 1997, Purdy Materials started mining sand and gravel to supply its concrete operation with quality aggregates. Our newest plant supplies a wide range of sand, gravel, limestone, top soil, custom-blended soils, landscape boulders and other specialty products to federal, state and local agencies, as well as commercial and residential contractors.

Today, we manage a diverse set of businesses. We are proud to work with many of the same customers, vendors and employees we started with more than 25 years ago. We are constantly looking for better ways to serve our customers. To support this goal, we foster an entrepreneurial and team-based work environment.  We also invest heavily in new technology, specialized equipment and ongoing employee training.

Purdy Materials strives to be a responsible corporate citizen and good neighbor. We are pleased to be active in the communities that we serve. We purchase directly from local vendors, when possible, and consistently support the charitable endeavors of our employees.
